Althought there are many people who consider themselves "steampunk" around the world, there are still many who are clueless about the subculture's existence. For those who are steampunk this way of living has changed their view on everything. 

 

Steampunk has brought another dimension to society. It has taught people to be accepting of all types of people, no matter their differences. The subculture has allowed people to be themselves and say the thing that are often hard to talk about.

 

A popular steampunk band The Steam Powered Giraffe allowed people to see sex changes in a new way. The lead singer, Isabella Bennett, explained to their audience that she was going in for an "upgrade," in other words a sex change, This different way of phasing the procedure helped her audience better understand what it's like to be transgender. 

 

As steampunk culture becomes more popular it will hopefully allow people to become more honest and able to openly talk about life's struggles.
